Jacqueline Sowell
Jacqueline Sowell is the Agency’s Social Media and Web Strategist. She is responsible for the Agency’s social media strategy as well as its internet properties. She also assists in the user experience design and ADA accessibility of the Agency’s web applications.
Jacqueline joined the Secretary of State’s staff in the summer of 2011. She has worked in both the public and private sector, teaching at universities in California and Washington and working in the high-tech industry.
Andrea Cantu-Schomus
Andrea directs all media relations and communications for the Secretary of State’s office. Her duties include responding to questions from reporters, writing speeches and clearly informing the public about the efforts of the Secretary of State and the four divisions she oversees which include elections, audits, corporations and archives.
Andrea joined the Secretary of State’s office in the fall of 2010 after spending time managing communications for several divisions of Oregon’s Department of Human Services including Addictions and Mental Health and the Oregon State Hospital. Before her work with state government Andrea worked as a television news reporter in both Oregon and California.
She’s a proud Duck and Bearcat alumnus earning her undergraduate degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Oregon and an MBA from Willamette University. She enjoys spending time with her husband James and their pug Rocky.
